Black Koffee was born during the global lockdown, businesses everywhere large and small came to a screeching halt with many people left unsure how they were going to survive financially, me included.

My partner runs a party hire company in Birmingham called Birmingham Bouncy Castles, it has been running with much success for five years but of course with lockdown in place large gatherings of people and parties became illegal so the side I was involved with (face painting mainly) was on standby until furthur notice. As the months went by I racked my brain for something I could do to make money and quench my creative thirst!

I needed something I could do from home of course but also with my three little babies running around. The world was just getting crazier and crazier and then Boom! George Floyd was murdered in broad daylight causing a ripple of outrage across the world. My heart felt heavy, I felt so angry, I felt so sad, but as protests and online groups of black people formed, causing solidarity and a bond between us, I actually started to feel hope, pride and love.

I knew then I wanted something for us. I wanted something that celebrated our race, our beauty, our standards, our energy. My love of art and my love for my black people created my new baby! Black Koffee. The slogan - Strong, Sweet, & Black. Exactly what we are!

So to bring us to the present, I print all of the products on this website in my living room (which now resembles a little factory) myself whilst my children climb all over me, make a mess and just cause general chaos but I do it all with a happy heart knowing I am providing beautiful black images to beautiful black people. I love us!!
